Hi folks, just joined up here. I am currently working on the car of my dreams.
a 1947 Hudson Super Six 4 dr. sedan.. the car belonged to my uncle. we always talked about digging it out and getting it running. it was parked in 1963, when I was a kid I would put many miles pretending to drive behind the wheel.as i grew I would visit the car every chance I would get. around 1990 I joined HET and started collecting bits and pieces, evaluating what it would need and such, learning as much as I could about these cars. she has 30,170 miles. the engine is being rebuilt and should be ready to run in a month or so.I will do updates frequently on the status.
    I love her very much.

I am in need of Valve covers and vent tubes for a Hudson 212 six, anybody know where I could find these? the origionals were lost when someone "cleaned up" the garage.

Nice looking car is that the original paint? looks in good shape if it is.

Contact Jason over at Albrights Hudson he will probably have covers and vent tubes.

Make sure they set the valve clearance intake, 0.012 and exhaust 0.014, this with a cold engine. And must use new feeler gauges, not ones that were used to set engine will running. With todays gas this is a must. Walt.

Good looking car. I like it. It is in very good condition to start with. What are some of your plans with the resoration?

Reminds me of home movies my Dad took of my uncles car at Yosemite National Park and at Giant Sequoia National Monument back in the late 40's. It was driven onto and parked on top of the side of a fallen giant tree. I'll have to get out the movie to see if it shows a marker of the location of the giant tree.

If you live near me, I have a perfect left rear fender with rubber stone guard and long trim in like new condition I'd be willing to let go. I thought I would use it on my 47 PU but the car and PU finders are not the same.

WOW! You even have the radio option.

Please keep us informed of progress.

    Have a great day.

Wow, what a great car to get - I am envious! You certainly have a car with a lot of fond memories and is something to cherish. Enjoy!

Very nice. I didn't really know what one of these looked like cleaned up.
    What are they worth?
Just Thursday I was walking through a field and counted 8 of them (hudsons - more of the upside down bathtub types). Then at the edge was another that looked the best of them. A twin h power or something.
Is there a similarity to Packards, Nashes, Kaisers or Studebakers? Because they were all grouped together, maybe 30 -35 in all.
I'd really be interested to know how yours rides.

Thanks for all the good words,The car is coming along well. the paint is indeed the origional. everything on the car is origional ,I plan to keep it and drive it in its present condition. I have added the Coker tires and smoothie wheels but they will be painted as origional and will use the origional hubcaps when I can find proper clips.the glovebox contents, origional spare in trunk.I plan to take off the basketweave seat covers eventually ,there are brand new seats underneath.this car was purchased new at E.E.Hosch ,ponce deleon ave, Decatur,Ga.
