It's an honor that you're asking those of us who own Hudsons about a Chysler engine. However, have you also addressed this same question to the Chrysler forum on this website?

The engine appears to be a mid-late 30's engine. Looks like there have been a lot of modifications over the years, not sure what that device is running off of the fan belt - appears to be a pump of some type (?)...
@1049superg - FYI, this thread is posted correctly/properly - on the 'Chrysler Corporation' forum (top-right of the thread, same line as the subject of the thread, to the left of the 'star'). Most likely you are viewing it from the 'Discussions' area, which will show all threads, regardless of the forum they are posted in. -
this engine was changed to a 12 volt system and the part off the fan belt is a govener linkage set up.
-
looks like an old chrysler industrial engine from a victory air raid siren with a few modifications. Is that an automatic load throttle govenor on the front,,,,,,what engineering. This engine will be running until the next world war.

spit fires run forever...just keep the valves adjusted....Parts are cheep compared to a Hudson and lots of NOS stuff...
