Updated H-E-T Club Website!
-
See our updated website at http://www.hetclub.org/ . I just discovered this a couple minutes ago.
Take a look, sign in, and let's hear what you think (pro and con), or what constructive suggestions you might have. -
Kudos for allowing payment for renewals or new memberships via paypalArkie

Thanks Jon. I guess the secret is out. I rolled it out quietly to allow me to fix initial problems that did not show up in test. I think all the problems are fixed.
Just a note to all HET Club members. If you do not have an email on file with the club, please send a note with your email so I can get it loaded so your registration on the site will go smoother.
If you are not a HET Club member, you can still register with the site. Please use the Join/Renew button. If you just want access to some of the non-member content, use the $0 online membership.
Let me know if you see any issues or have problems...it is a work in progress.

Looks great, Thank you, Aaron
-
A little bumpy getting user name and password set up so it worked, but that's gone down the stream. Really nice looking - Aaron has piled a lot of work into this - and his wife has piled up a ton of "honey-do's" for him to do when he gets us all up and running. :D
Thanks Aaron for all your work on this.

Great job Aaron, I have been testing the site for the past few months and it has come a long ways. Looks great today!Brownie

Saw that 'something' had changed on the HET Club website over the weekend - when looking up some of Alex's reference material (something I do ALL the time now, many thanks to Alex!). Once I re-registered, I had some fun going thru & viewing and 'discovering' the myriad of new areas and features. =D>
LOVE the capability to search for vehicles, people, etc., something we've all been yearning for... (You'll need to be registered on the new site to see or view these things). \:D/ -
Aaron,
Thanks for sorting out my access.
The new site is great ; I was wondering just the other day how many 112's there were in the club - now I know
A great job =D> -
Let me put a couple of caveats out there.
1. The club member search will show you EVERYONE who has been in the club in the last 20-ish years. I do not have the ability for that search to leverage the "current" status. Don't get weirded out if you pull up a member who passed "years ago".
2. There were over 13,000 vehicle records loaded. When someone who had a vehicle (and did not provide a serial number) left the club, sold their car and the new person joined (and either provided or did not provide a serial number), there was no way to match up the vehicles. For example, I was able to locate the last three owners of my car because they all provided a serial number. So vehicles with "N###" in the name are cars without serial numbers. I had to have a unique identifier so I could load them.
3. I cannot show you what cars other people have, or who the owner of vehicles are...until I build the report. It is coming, don't ask, it is high priority for me (so it will be done in 12 months : )
4. All the vehicles were loaded without the relationship being visible. If you dont see your car in your dashboard, let me know. I can turn them on very fast, but there is no way for me to do it across the board since there are more than 1 member associate with most vehicles. If you ask for your cars, I will ask you who you bought it from and what date did you buy it (If you say summer of 2005, I will set to July 1 2005 for example and the serial number. The reason I ask who you bought it from and the serial is so I can link existing cars. If you dont want your serial number visible, give it to me and I will put it in a hidden field.
5. If you have questions, submit to membership@hetclub.org or hetpresident@hetclub.orgAaron Cooper

Went there a couple days ago and was amazed at how easy it was to adapt to the new site. ..
-
After registering an receiving email I clicked on the link for verification code then the screen goes to the Web site front page that has this message:
Registration failed: Verification code not found.
When I click on membership@hetclub.org to request help I get another message that there is a problem with the address.
What do I do now? Help!

A bit of confusion here. I signed up yesterday and got the same problem Lee did. So I signed up again today (used same user name and password) and again, got a confirming e-mail from the Club.
When I go to the site and type in my username and password, I'm taken immediately to the membership page with an application blank. I guess that means I'm "in", huh?
Only thing is, nowhere is there anything with my username, suggesting that I'm really "here". And I don't see any new features. There's no "search" of any type that I can see. Sounds like some people are seeing a roster of Hudsons here, but all I see are the club store, list of club officials, calendar....same-old same-old.
Am I missing something? How do I know I've successfully signed in? -
Lee & Jon - See and follow item #5 in the post by akcoop...
-
Jon B - I had the same problem when I first went into the new site, ie logging in and being sent to the membership page.
Re-registering didn't work either.
Aaron reset my login using my username (hudsontech) and a generic password. The first couple times I couldn't log in - then it went with no problems.
I've since reset my password and have no problems with login.
And by the way the little gray "Log in" button changes to "Log out" when you are logged in.

Jon and Lee, if you see this first, you are fixed...at least on the site. The main issue we are having is that the site uses your email address to link accounts. Lee, you didnt have an email account on file and Jon, your email was your terraplane one. I can tell when someone registers and cant get in, however the last two days I had a list of about twenty. I got all the issues that existed fixed. There are a number of non-members that may still have issues. I will send out an email and tell them they really need to come in through the Join button and just pick the free online membership. This basically gets you access to the online manuals and some future things. More to come.

Thanks, Aaron, but what you're telling us then, is that we must register using the same e-mail address as appears in the National Roster, right? If so, my roster uses the "detailed" one (I'm not sure how to quickly check this, other than grabbing my roster!) Others may want to check their rosters to find the correct "registered" e-mail address too.
