A lost Hudson in south central Kansas

    While on the way back to Escondido Ca. from the Gettysburg National our route took us through southern Kansas. West bound on state highway 166 somewere west of Cedar Vale and east of Arkansas City sat this Hudson. I wonder what tales it could tell?

    I had a need for one for my Super-dore.. Found a nice plateable 1950 handle. All that was missing was the hole for the tag glass. I carefully cut the opening and installed the glass from a broken handle I had. After the plateing operation, you can't tell it was done. The casting already had the holes tapped for the screws to hold the glass in! So if you find a 50 handle assy.. grab it !!

    The license plate holder (above the trunk handle) in the pictures looks familiar - Think I have a couple of them sitting in my media blaster (waiting for me)...

    I'd love to restore a 49' coupe at some point and it would be a shame to chop its top to make it a convertible.

    SuperDave was making an inside joke. A step-down coupe is a terrible convertible candidate due to the differences in structural engineering between closed Hudsons and open ones. A much more promising prospect is to convert a Hollywood into a convertible, as the extra structural members are all ready in place on that particular model. This has been done by a lot of Hudsonnuts.

    Ah I did not know, I am new Hudsonite and the whole car club culture. Just in my opinion I'd rather save by restoring instead of modifying a rare classic, but that is just me.
