Need stepdown conv top boot pattern?
-
Anyone doing a stepdown convertible and no top boot to use as a pattern? I've just had a new top boot made for my Hornet, and have my original one that the shop used as a pattern. A couple of the seams have been taken apart to facilitate tracing outlines of the pieces. Would be glad to loan it to anyone needing it.

Park-
I would love to borrow that. My brother is going to do the interior of my car, as he is now the official trim man for Wildrick Restoration. You are right, it makes it so much easier when it is apart to make a pattern. What does your new one look like? Same, different color? -
Russ, I found a roll of what appeared to be good quality and perfectly matching vinyl when I was doing some cleanup of Herbert Bell's garage. I asked his daughter if I might have it, and she said fine. When I got it home, I found that it did indeed match my original leather and vinyl perfectly. Local upholstery shop made the boot for me. Email me with info on who and where to send it (email address in the last roster is still good ... be sure to get mine and not my brother's).

Park, can I borrow it?? ops, I already did and it worked great... THANKS AGAIN, Lew >:D<
-
And you were at a disadvantage, Lew ... it was in one piece then!
-
Park, I would also like to borrow it sometime. Will it work on a pacemaker convertible? My pacemaker doesn't have the divider in the back seat. I don't know if that would make a difference. I've been so busy with the casting lately that I dont know when I will finish the convertible but hopefully it won't be to long. Thanks. Rob.
-
Rob, I don't think the boot is different for a Pacemaker except maybe for the color. But mine would work OK as a pattern in any case. Email mewhen you're ready for it. Email address in the last HET roster is still good.

Thanks Park. That will sure make it a lot easier to get a good fit and one that is made like the original. I will email you when I am ready. Thanks again. Rob
