Speedometer gear assembly Hudson 39

Hello!
I was troubleshooting my speedometer and just found out the hard way that there are no gears in the gearbox for the speedometer. I have all the missing pieces, but searching for a picture that shows what goes where in the gearbox.
If anyone have such a picture or can describe how it should go. Is there any bearings or springs inside, for the speedometer drive? Anyone who has a clue? Quick answers a really appreciatet now, as i am under the car, and are searching my spare parts for all the pieces (It is quite hard when you don't know)

I got it working now, was really easy.
But the speedometer is screaming, itsounds more at higher speeds. I dont know what the problem could be, but i want to fix it. Anyone that knows what couldnbe causing the screaming noise? I dont really know how the speedometer works, but i am not that bad at reasemblig things i have taken apart, and see how things work. But i do not want to disasemble a original speedometer without knowing what i will find inside, so i dont break something i have searched so long for, and is hard to find. -
Take the cable loose from the speedometer head an drop some light oil down into the cable housing, lube well and then see for sure if the noise is coming from the head and not the cable.

The cable is well lubed. I had it out from the car while troubleshooting, and lubed the wire the same time.
The noise is from the gauge. -
We'll I haven't worked on that year, but looking at a 37 speedo assembly out of the PU , I would pull the gauge assembly, take the speedo out of the housing where you could lube the gears. If nothing is broken and looks good, I would think that would take care of the squeak.

I think they should be quite similiar on the inside. But there is nothing that needs friction inside? So i dont accidentaly over-lube my speedo so its stone dead?

There are small gears and drums that turn on a shaft. A shot or two of light oil on the gears-shaft or lube such as kroll should do it.

There was a 39 speedo with all the guages as well on Ebay a few months ago. Only $40. I know it wasnt sold. If your problem isnt the cable drive, here is a replacement speedo.

I opened up the speedometer and used oil fpr my hair-trimmer on all moving parts. Now it seems to be just fine. Havent tested it n the car yet, but when spinned with fingers the needle moves really smooth and silent. Not like before when it screamed when i touched it. Lets hope it stays quiet in the car.
