I think those would be an 'H' inside of a triangle.

I think the trunk emblem and the skirt emblem are the same. You should be able to hold the Terraplane skirt emblem up to the Hudson trunk emblem and see if the bolt pattern and overall dimensions are the same.
I didn't think to do that before.

I'll be interested to see what pictures show up here. I know there are original sales brochures still out there too. Maybe one of those can show enough detail to see the "H"?

Did you just buy or sell this car? He's looking for a good photo of the skirt emblem for a Hudson. You can see in the picture above that it is an "H", but not very well. A good straight on shot would help to verify if the skirt emblem is the same as the trunk emblem.

Were the backgrounds always painted red?

I spent eight years restoring this car and sold it in August, 2003. I've looked my photos and don't find a decent closeup of the emblem, but here's a cropped enlargement.

While restoring my 39, the fender skirts looked kind of bare. I looked for emblems for 1939
but could not find any ,I really don't know if they made any. So I made some myself.
I took the name plate off the heater and put a back plate shaped like wings behind it ,contoured it a bit and had it cast in bronze. All I have to do now is have it chromed.

This is a close-up of my trunk emblem. It measures 9 & 7/8 inches from tip to tip. It looks a lot like the pic Park_W posted but maybe a different size?

wouldn't the numbers be listed in a parts book.I remember 1937 Terraplane used the trunk emblems on the skirts.Hudson skirts used the H emblem.

Picture I posted has Terraplane reproduction emblems bought from K-gap. Here is what they look like on our panel delivery, Theyn do not have H like Hudson had. Also are smaller.
