Hudson Numbers
-
Hello People
one Question... are the Serialnumbers Hudson stamped somewhere in the sheetmetal?
Are there clear indications of what year a car is in between 51 and 53? My Car is a 51 and has holes that are covered in Quarters, they looks like the quarters a from a 52 to 53 car... Strange any ideas? -
You should post some pictures. There are clear indications between ('51) and ('52-'53), which are identical, as far as quarters, doors, fenders on similar models.
'51's had holes for beltline trim halfway between the beltline and the bottom of the door. '52-'53 holes are right below (1-1/2") below the beltline. -
Here some pics

SCOTT'S NOTE - I have edited this one link, and made it a webpage link, not an inserted or linked image. I think by using the Previous and Next controls on that page (on the right-hand side) you'll be able to see the full gallery of images. Something in the structure of that linked site stops the image insertion working as it should. -
I can't see the pictures . . . am I the only one?
-
No Russell , I'm with you.
-
grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr... how to easy upload pics????????
-
I can't see the pix either!

How to upload images - http://www.classiccar.com/forum/discussion/160153/how-to-insert-an-image-within-your-discussions#Item_1
The reason the images didn't work above is because what has been linked to is web pages, not image files. And from what I can see all the links point to a German download service, but the links do not take you to the individual files.
I've edited the first link, and it takes you to one image, and there are other images in the set you can navigate to. Is that right @6bbla12 - all the images are there in that online gallery? -
I can get to "Image Shack" web site but the images are very slow to load (I'm using cable broadband that usually works pretty quickly!!)Dave Y

It is a '51 (or 50) based on the trim and tail light I saw in the one picture.
-
Thanks, Scott.
It appears that you have a 7A model, which translates to a 1951 Hornet. The tag is hard to read in the pics, you might have to verify that is what is printed. The other part of the tag is your serial (or VIN).
Now, as far as where those numbers are, one place is the id tag in your photo. There are also at least two places on the frame that should match the serial number. Individual body parts like a hood or door, would not have the serial number. Incidentally, why do you ask? -
hello guys, i try it out tomorrow, thx for help...
-
6bblal2 - if you can find the serial number I can tell you what month it was produced in.
