Has anyone used one of these electric wiper motors?

    Lee,

Put the Newport Engineering electric wiper motor on our 54 Hornet 2-years ago. Installation was simple and the unit works great. You'll need to send them a vacuum motor core, as they will reuse the conecting blocks for the wiper cable on new electric unit.

    FYI
Ive heard New Port is the top of line Electric Wiper.
However being a do it myself guy I installed a $40 Jc Whitney Universal Wiper Motor on my '37 & 47 Hudson and was a simple conversion. Earlier, I posted the process on the Forum.

Sounds just like the conversion i did a couple years ago. I obtained a two speed 57 Chevy wiper motor. I used the Hudson connection block for the cables and attached them to the chevy motor, a simple mod to the Hudson bracket .Took all of 1/2 hour. The Chevy motor was bought off ebay for a song, because it wasn't a matching number OEM Delco! NOTE... 12 volt!

I did as Superdave, came out beautiful, not a difficult job either. Held on to chevy motor with 4 countersunk threadlocked screws for good measure. The washers under the hudson pivot plate provide clearance for the original hudson wiper motor pivoting arms to clear the chevy bracket. More washers between chevy mounting bracket and hudson mounting bracket also provide clearance and security. Originall I recessed two spots on the chevy plate but found this was unnecessary when I used washers to off-set the hudson plate. The cables actually line up better than stock.
