I really hate to bring this subject up again after all the bad press K-Gap has gotten from some members in the last several months. I have had at least one coversation with Kayleen since the uproar in this column. She indicated that they have had computor and supplier problems almost at the same time. She also said that it was all being worked out and everyone was going to get the parts that they ordered. I do not want to bad mouth them any more than what has already been said. I have received many parts fom them over the last 2 years with a relatively small wait time. However I am currently looking for a source for door weatherseals, quarter window seals, and windshield seals for my 1947 club coupe. I can't seem to get a credible response from them and I will leave it at that. Can anyone help me with a different supplier for these seals???

    Chuck:

I have had a big problem with non-responsiveness of K-gap regarding an order for seals for a '49.
I wish I had just ordered from Metro Rubber to begin with.

Possibly Steele Rubber Products. It is Steelerubber.com. I have used them for a number of Mustang parts and the quality seems excellent. Their catalog is almost 600 pages. They do have a few items for Hudsons. Also stuff for Pierce Arrow and Crosley etc.

I e-mailed k-gap asking about availability of some weather seal I wanted last January. They replied quickly so I ordered it a week later on the internet and received it at the address in Florida where we were staying in about 4 days. I thought they were very professional and quick. My only advice is make sure you are using the correct phone and e-mail address from their site and if they don't reply to paid for parts, keep politly asking if they lost the order and possibly e-mail a copy of your order showing it being paid for. I have had no bad experience with the new owners.

I contacted Kayleen by e-mail to order some rubber parts for my 39 Country Club and got an immediate response. Paid by paypal and had my running board mats in four days. I know some have had problems, but i really think kgap is being held up by some of there suppliers with promises of parts that they themselves never get on time. I always ask if the part I need is in stock and Kayleen tells me if it is or if they are waiting on supplies. A little kindness goes a long way.

Do not send any money UNLESS the part is in stock!
