help me please
-
how do I read the new comments without reading the whole post?
-
I'd like to know that too as well as how to attach photos (got 1 response to that which didn't work)!
-
Spencer - Same issue, the newer post(s) appear at the bottom, and there is no way that I have seen to go directly to them, other than paging down thru all the older posts;
Pete - Posting a picture is as simple as browsing to the picture on your computer.
Look at the bottom, Just below where you are writing your comments. Click on the "Attach a file" link, browse to the picture on your PC. Simple as that. It might appear small, but should expand when someone click's on it.
There are more complicated ways to do it - however those require some knowledge of 'simple HTML'. Hopefully, those running the show will eventually incorporate some easy-to-use HTML tools into the basic editor everyone currently uses. -
I think there's a lot of frustration, but I'm just gonna hang in there.
Think about it- this is a free website for us, and believe me, very little is free any more. For whatever reasons, the powers that be chose a new platform, and I'm not qoing to question their reasoning- because beggars can't be choosers.
I appreciate the help they have given me, and will live with the fairly minor shortcomings. Lets just keep our chins up and I think the bugs will get worked out. In any case, I'm not going to toss it in- I enjoy the folks on here too much. -
As I try to type this, my page jumps all over--I have to scroll way up or down to find where I was...
I agree with your assessment of the people who come to the site, Mike. That's why I come too. These Hudson folks truely are some of the best folks I've ever come around. I believe they deserve the best. This isn't the first time they have lost their medium. I think it will come back around. Just because it's "free" doesn't mean to me that we should settle for a lot of problems, either. And I'm not sure what the definition of "free" is. Call me suspicious. Trust me, we are regarded as "traffic". Someone is paying for us.
I'll try to be respectful but my real alliance is to Hudson people, not Classiccar.com people...slim

Like most web sites, advertisers pay the way. As long as we try to buy from the advertisers, they will continue to pay. I love this forum and check it many times a day. Hang in there. the owners of the site need us to keep the advertisers money coming.

Hi Spencer Yarrow, we removed the ability to jump to the latest unread post because users were having an issue then seeing older posts, so we took the decision to allow you to see all posts for this minor short term inconvenience.
Keith/denverslim2, yes, i'm paying for you, in hosting/staff/hours :-). Please reply to my email and we can put your gripes to bed.Classic Car Lover -
Ben, I found your email and replied. Sorry that email address is one I use exclusively for work and I haven't used it today (weekend). My normal email address would not allow me on the site. I'll watch for your reply...slim

Keith, some of this confusion could be down to you being registered under two usernames, attached to two separate email addresses. That's something we can sort out via email.
-
Still waiting for the email.
-
Keith, we got your reply, let's work on the issues together.Classic Car Lover
