Anyone got a 49-50 REBUILT 6 VOLT STARTER FORSALE?
-
Looking for a rebuilt 6 volt starter for a 49-50 Hudson. Thanks, Niels
-
Thought you didn't currently have a Hudson? Working on a project 'in the closet'? LOL! :)
-
We have a local rebuilder here that I use . Hes a Packard guy and real good but you would have to ship it to him,

Have you tried just a regular local auto electric shop? I had my '37 starter rebuilt maybe 15 years ago at a "modern" shop, didn't seem to phase them.
-
It's for a guy in France. I don't have a core.....
-
I am sure there is someone here that can at least come up with a core. I know I have a few starters sitting on the shelf for manual trans Hudsons, but not sure about years. Does 49-50 have the solenoid mounted to the starter?
-
Niels - Actually, I've got a couple of starters sitting around (not in very good condition), probably like many others here. We're on opposite ends of the U.S., it probably wouldn't work-out for us - however I am sure that others close by you might be able to come up with a core.
Do you know what part number you're looking for? Shipping could be a 'killer' - so it would probably be best to get the correct starter 'core' to begin with. -
Here's a remanufactured one on Ebay, though it's a bit pricey. And -- sadly for your friend -- it's in Massachusetts, not Marseille....
