Does anyone have any info or pics of 65 Pontiac Tempest? I own one, but think it may be rare since I can't find any pics or info on it. Would love any help, thanks.

Just go to www.google.com and search for 1965 Pontiac Tempest and you'll find pictures and info on the car. I don't think a '65 Tempest will be that rare, just pretty scarce lately. You will probably find more '65 GTOs still around but there are Tempests out there and plenty of info on them as well. They are nice cars, good luck with yours.

    Hello Hrallan,

Thanks for the information, I will check out google. I have found a few things, but I still think the Tempest is rare...I found 3 so far in the U.S. for sale, but about 200-300 GTO's for sale.
    Thank you,
    Tracy

It may be rare like my 73 Fiat. Rare because it was not popular. And that might make it about as valuble as that neckalce they are advertising for the Titanics 100th anniversary made of authentic SILVER tone with genuine DIAMOND cz crystals.

What you might want to search though is for Pontiac Tempest forums that would be more model specific. You may not find specifically Tempest forums but I bet you will find forums with Tempest sections.

What I meant by the car not being necessarily rare but scarce is, in my opinion, a car is rare when not too many were built. Scarce means just not many are left. The best I can determine is that over 225,000 '65 Tempests were produced, including the LeMans series, so that to me means they were not particularly rare just scarce nowadays. Sorry for any confusion and again, that is just my opinion of the difference between rare and scarce and I'm sure there are those who disagree with it.

I don't think there was any confusion. And if any, I may have created it! Anymore, a word can be used in different ways from person to person. In fact I used "rare" where I should have used scarce as I am sure there were many of that model Fiat built but there are not many out today.

Now a car that would be more rare and scarce would be those 1982 Camaros built with the standard Iron Duke 4 cylinder. Only about 20,000 made (more were built with a V6 or the V8) and I don't see many at all left today.... After they figured that small motor was not enough for that car!

So that may be a better example for both rare and scarce. Just I see a lot of people asking if something is rare because they feel rare=valuable.
