    I just saw Richard in October, and he said he was having another batch of brackets made. if he stopped, it was very recent.

    That said, I have not been able to reach him.

    I have been looking for alternatives to Labud and now Pridemore who sadly seem out of the businiess. I came across ABS brakes who offers a US-made kit for $650. Does anyone have any experience with them?

    It reportedly has 12 in rotors, calipers/pads, caliper brackets, hoses, seals, bearings, dust caps, banjo bolts and all necessary hardware to complete. Therefore relative to Labuds it has everything but residual valves. Relative to Prideomore's it lacks the MC bracket. So, in this way, the price doesn't seem horrible to me. It is said to be made in USA. Any experience with this? Anyone?

    I found out the rotor fits directly to spindle in this kit, no hub. This is why bearings and seals are included. Also means more expensive rotor replacement down the line. Will order kit and let you all know how it works out. Will first try with original MC and residual valves ala Labud, but if too much foot travel or effort I will install their power booster under floor whicdh utilizes PS pump- that ought to be fun to add to the engine accessories! Anyone have a bracket for this, hopefully mounting to the passenger side?

    Why don't you spend less time and money and restore the original Hudson brake system. If done right you'll have superior brakes capable of stopping that car just a quickly as the screwed up system you are now thinking about adding. I just don't understand the need to take a well engineered automobile and work overtime screwing it up! ! !

    FYI

    I was going to install Discs on my Terraplane St Rod but installed large 11" X 2.225" Hornet drum brakes instead with a GM Power Booster and suprisingly, it stops just like my 2010 highway car.

    However, if I were to stop repetitively, like when racing, lining would fade far sooner than discs.

    Sounds like a plan... skip using the Hudson MC and go for a swinging pedal off an Astro Van. All the proportioning and residual is built in. You Just have to get some hydraulic pressure to the Hydra-boost system, Any one have experience in useing an electric power steering pump for such an application?

    If I ever run out of front shoes for my Hudson, I would install the Kanter of NJ kit. It's complete with all parts needed. Rotors, Calipers, Brake pads, Mounting brackets, Caliper hoses and wheel bearings, seals and all hardware needed. No suck thing as to much cost when it comes to brakes. Walt.

    ABS kit looks the same as kanter,
    I bought an ABS disc brake kit for a 63 Studebaker Lark and was never happy with the system. I think the stock pdb setup had better feel and braking. I worked with ABS to make it better but was never happy with it.
    On my Hudson I would like to change to dual chamber MC -
    Walt, where do you get your shoes relined with the right material?

    I have to say I still have a few boxed of the correct lining with Rivets, but will not sell yet as I have 2 53's and have to hold on for awhile. Rear shoes are available #55 and it's sold by a few different make names. Walt.
