Butchered a good Hudson. Took the heart out and replaced it with a piece of crap you can buy anywhere with enough money. Screwed up the wheel wells in the box. I don't understand this mentality. As far as I'm concrened, the thing is worthless. You couldn't even haul a bag of feathers in it. I'm pretty tolerant with people modifying stuff for a reason but this goes way beyond. Maybe this should go in the rant section. Just my opinion.

We (or I) have seen this on line before. It was listed the same way with a high minumim bid and a buy it now that was way over the line. As I recall he has won a few trophies with it but nothing that would add this type of value to it. Perhaps this fellow knows or had that stepdown (53 I think) on eBay a short while back?Brownie

I have zero problems with the work he has done. But gauging the interest in Hudson hotrods just by eBay suggests its a losing proposition. Sink tons of money into vehicle you the builder may love but you will never recoup your money. No one is plunking down 165K for this. He is dreaming.
Best return on investment is quality original resto and do not go over board there even because you will not get your money out.
I remember that cool purple Terraplane coupe that was for sale on eBay he did top notch work and put it up maybe 20 times never met reserve never got close.
So build it if you love it but forget getting your money back. Never going to happen.www.hudsonmotorcar.org -

Now that was what I should have done before advertising the '26 Delivery Van! Trouble is that she would have then made me sell something else - no win situation!

The initial posting on this truck was/is out in the 'Hot Rod' section of the forum.
Nice truck, but not my 'cup of tea', many aspects are ok but not really pleasing to the eye. Don't know if the owner's intent is to actually sell or not - but IMO would say that that they are 'testing the waters'.
It's one thing to build something like this, it is quite another to live with it. The decision on whether to actually drive and maintain it, or just let it 'sit' because the owner has to get past that 'first ding or scratch' (it WILL happen), and mentally there may be just too much time, work and money into it.
IMO, you will see this truck at some major auction, possibly one of the BJ auctions. -
I agree with "Miss Jean Brodie", "For those people who like that sort of thing, then, that is the sort of thing that they like...."

Nothing ruins a dashboard in a classic car faster than those huge silver autometer gauges. Especially the tac with the enormous shift light.

was thinking more along the lines of WTF

Doesn't even look like a Hudson. It is just something strange. All the fun and joy have been taken from this vehicle.

Well said. I go both ways-I like original type cars and some rodded cars. But, I just don't like when someone takes an old car or truck and tries to make it look like a modern creation. Whether original or rodded-what I like about old cars is that they still look like old cars with old car engineering. -
BIDDING HAS ENDED.
