My 54 Hornet Hollywood is sleeping in dry storage. All snug and rust free. Waiting for me to free up some time to get working on it and its cousin the 54 sedan :woohoo:

Hate to see one of these beauties sitting in the woods. No way for a fine Hudson to end up.

Hey - I saved the one and only Hudson "Camper Speacial" from the crusher in a salvage yard in Kansas. I think its kinda cute, dont know what I'll ever do with it but . . . I'm the only guy that has one ,

Roger, was the Camper Special made by Hudson or someones conversion. The reason I ask is in 2009 after the Western Regional meet at Yosemite we stop by John Cooks place in Mariposa, Ca to see his Hudson collection. There was a Hudson stepdown converted into a good size camper under a shelter. He may still have it if yours is lonely for a mate. LOL

It was put together by an old Hudnut out in Kansas with a lot of cars and time on his hands. And was making himself a camper. It has a full trunk on each end and in side the entire dash is gone right up to the firewall. Nothing there but a curved piece of panelboard. Even pulled the gears out of rear end and put a plate over the hole where the punkin was. This I suppose to cut down on drag when towing, even has a parking brake up by rhe hitch.
However he died before finishing it and it sat in the salvage yard for seven years that I knew of before I bought it.

Not as heavy as you would think ,all the heavy stuff is gone. He took the frame rails and pulled them together to make a "A". However if you were to haul much in it that would be another matter. The axle should be up between the doors.

What is the tongue weight? Seems like it would be really heavy.
