Can anyone tell me what might be going on with these people? I ordered some rubber from them and they gladly took my money, shipped the rubber to me and didn't rap the box very good so some of the rubber came out of the box. I called them and they told me that they would send me my missing parts. I waited for about 3 weeks, still not getting it so I called them. They said that they resent it, but I still don't have it. I have tried several times to get this taken care of but they won't call back or answere the phone. I can't believe that there are people like this in the Hudson Owners Groupe. I don't want this to affect anyone else so I posted it here. I don't want to upset anyone at Kay Gap, just to let others know what type of service I got for $550.00 Thats all.

Thanks for the info. I will get a hold of my credit card company in the morning. I hate to do this but I also hate to get screwed. I thought if I could just get them to call me we could work this out, I guess you just can't trust everyone can we?

    Hi Stepdown

That is good to hear. Did you order one of their catalogs? Did you know there are 368 part numbers listed for 1916 to 1957 Hudsons in their catalog? I know they have at least 2 other products not listed that I bought. 700R Trans adaptor kit and for my 47 PU door sill plates. Maybe they have more.

    Have a good day

I got the Kgap adaptor from Dan Thompson. He no longer had a car to install it on.

Sorry to hear that good folks are still getting suckered by K-Gap. Other postings on this forum show that K-Gaps former reputation is gone. I'm thinking that the only orders that get filled are ones that have the parts in stock. I've been ripped off for about $400, unless you think I'm dumb enough to wait a year for parts.

    Hello Marker345,

You aren't as dumb as me. I have been waiting since October 2009 for running board covers for my 1947 pickup. Would be happy for a refund instead, but couldn't get a response to e-mail requests for either parts or a refund. Of course, I guess they probably haven't sold any other running board covers for '47 pickups in the past two and a half years, so I shouldn't complain.

I hate to even look at my pickup in the garage, because it reminds me of this bad experience (I know, that is my problem, not K-Gap's). I have completely lost interest in the truck, but maybe the fire will get rekindled down the road. Luckily, I have a '47 Indian Chief to work on, with parts suppliers who actually send parts when you pay for them.

    Take care,

    Steve Bryson

Wow! 368 part numbers listed in their catalogs! At least 2 other products not listed! 770R trans adapter kit and 47 PU door sill plates!

But do they have running board covers for a 1947 pickup?

And do you have to know a secret code word to get the parts shipped?

    Take care,

    Hi Steve

Always good to hear from you. My Catalog is 2008 so a newer catalog may have newer products listed.

Yes the 47 Pick-Up 3/4 Ton running boards mats are listed in the catalog. Part #234 I have seen a couple of trucks with their running board mats installed. They look good.

To my knowledge there is no secret code. I phone like anyone else. Sometimes I get a pick up right away and sometimes I do not. Since I know this situation has been like this for years I am not going to make myself metally and physically sick over something I have no control over. I place my order sometimes I get it in a few days and sometimes not. The longest wait was 6 months, but I new it would take that long because the sill plate molds were being made. There has never been a time I did not receive my order and I never called to find out what is taking so long. I have confidence the part will arrive and it always has. I have bought over $1,000 dollars worth of parts. And because of the quality of the parts I will continue to buy any parts I need from them. I do hope you and all the others will receive your parts soon.

I hope you will email me to let me know what is going on with your truck. hetcleescars@yahoo.com drop the het. I hope to get started on my 47 PU soon. I already have most of Kgap parts collected. The mats will be the last part to order.

    Have a good day.

Maybe everyone who has paid and haven't gotten their orders from Kgap should get together and file a small claims law suit. Perhaps a dash of reality would get things unstuck.

    Just a dumb suggestion.

ya know I've been reading these "threads" for many months. I've know Perry Spring, Dany's dad, for decades, been to their house often & he's just a great guy, had lots of Hudsons, does some amazing work, etc., & Dany & his wife too are very nice people.
I just think "the kids" bit off more than they could chew so to speak + seemingly ran into a lot of family problems. They seemingly have moved several times, for what reason(s)????????
I have no idea what their problem(s) are now but they've amassed a lot of ill will from HETers AND I know Press didn't give them the business + know they must have a lot of $$$$$$$$$$ tied up in inventory. They've either gotta "get in it gear" or they're going to be "out on a limb" financially with K-GAP, unfortunately, if they aren't already!

    Hi Steve

I misread one of your questions. I personally do not know if they have any running board mats in stock. However, if you would like me to, I will gladly try to find out for you if they have any in stock. Let me if you want me to do that for you, on this forum or email. I can't fix the problem but I will try to help if I can.

    Have a good day.

    Good post, Pete.
The thing is, Press and Janet were retired and their kids were grown.

I believe I've said this before - but a simple email or phone call to a prospective customer with an explanation of why their order is delayed, and an expected delivery date (with an update if that can't be met) would go a long way toward building good customer relation.

Ignoring customers calls and emails is NOT the way to build good customer relations, as has been the case. I'm sorry, but it takes less than 3 minutes to answer/send and email, maybe a little more time on the phone, but still should be well under 5 minutes.

One cannot run a business the way KGap is doing it.

    My experience with K-gap.
I am just in the middle of a deal with them now for door rubbers for my '50 Pacemaker. I have had two very prompt email replies to questions and they are working on combining a delivery to me with other stuff from Vintage Coach.

Very pleased with the service to date.

Some on my e-mails to them are answered quickly, others, concerning unfilled or incomplete, backordered items are not answered. It's as if I never sent them an e-mail.
