254 Camshaft
-
The #1 Exhaust valve is only lifting about half what it should on the 254 eight I'm rebuilding. Bummer!
Anybody got a good camshaft, or a good place to get it fixed?
Thanx

Larry, I think I gotr my re-ground from Bob Rivigno in NJ....

Remove the lifter before you do anything else, to see if the bottom is worn away. This is what the lifters do in a splasher engine. We have a company that makes new lifters, do not have them refaced as they drop so low you can not adjust the clearance. Walt.

Try Al Saffern in Ariz. He is in the WTN Bet he has a good cam and can supply reground lifters...I have never had a problem with adjusting reground lifters.

Larry, I may have a good cam. Let me know if you still need one.I'll check the casting number.
