Now that we don't have Dave Kostansek for various parts, Where do we go for some of the stuff He had. As a result of a fire, I'm in need of a set of plug wires for my 254. I'm sure there are a meriade of sources outside of the Hudson world, but want lengths and such to be exact as Dave's were. I've been tempted to call him anyway, but will try to respect his statement in the WTN that says "don't call". I always enjoyed talking to him, a lifetime of knowledge in him and he's always ready to share. I'll miss that.
    Thanks in advance,
    KIM

Dave is out ?! What a loss to the world of Hudsoning. It will get harder for us to stay a driver's club without suppliers like him.

How about Dale Cooper (513) 821-6200. For others look under Member Products & Services in your official Hudson Essex Terraplane Club publication, the White Triangle News.

Don't have a White Triangle News? Send me an email with your name and address at HETForkner@aol.com (drop the HET) and I'll send you one.

I've just scanned through the current issue of WTN and see anybody that has such. Dave had an ad in the Nov/Dec. issue stating not to call. One of problems he shared with me is Tim Cheney, his partner in his Hudson stuff, is very busy with his work and family. Dave relied on him to produce many of the replacement parts, such as battery cables, plug wires and so on.

It's amazing how the little things make a difference...after I installed Dave's high-quality, correct 6-volt battery cables I have never had another starting problem with my '40.

You might at least try to give Dale Cooper a call, he is a good resource... he owns an auto parts store and owns numerous Hudsons.

I'be been ordering parts from Rockauto.com. Easy online catalog and a lot of Hudson parts. Everything isn't there yet, for instance they didn't have tune-up parts listed for the 40, 254, but they were all there for the 51. They have a couple of errors in brakes, which I've told them about. Just gotta know your Hudsons.

They even list the S-shaped rubber seals for the stepdown front doors. Their prices are a third to a half what you'll pay locally, and many times your choice of brand name. (Spark plugs $1.19), and the parts are in your mailbox in 2 days.

Yes, Rock Auto has stuff for Hudsons they also list the rear track (sway or panhard) bar bushings at about ten bucks apiece. Made by Metro rubber and cheaper than on Metro rubbers sight.

Dave's ad in the current WTN says in part "Parts remaining after Jan. 1 will be available during the Gettysburg meet at the regular price". So if you or a friend can get there maybe you can get what you need.
