37 PU bonnet fitment question
-
We are doing preliminary fitting of the cab and bonnet assembly to the chassis for final body then paint work. The parts were delivered to me in boxes and such so we are trying to figure it all out. The question I have concerns the grill shell to the fenders, it appears this shell is too narrow and according to the parts book, the business coupe has different bonnet assembly numbers from the other styles. Maybe, we have a coupe shell and not the proper one??

Could You have a terraplane bonnet instead of Hudson there is a diference in the size of the grill. I don't know which is the larger of the two, But I am thinnkng the Terraplane was a little smaller than the Hudson. Anyway, Hope You get it worked out. Looks like it is going to be a nice restoration.
Keep us informed of the progress.

You may be right, Diane had this PU and a 37 business coupe and the parts were mixed together I think.

I don't think the shells are different but I am wondering about any re-work on the inner face of the fenders that attaches to the lower horizontal panel.

That part of the fenders had minimal work done, it was the wheel arches that had taken a beating. Also notice in the picture with the grill shell, towards the bottom it looks like it had been welded to the fenders.
