heater blower question
-
can a (1959) heater be run by just connecting (hotwiring?) the blower's positive wire to positive battery post and negetive wire to a switch that grounds when turned on? this would be a temporary solution until i can find all the parts. would this hurt anything?
it's cold out there! :S -
so my blower motor is the old school "post" style. one small post sticks out of the side and that's it. the "post" is for the positive wire. the blower motor is grounded through the 4 main retaining bolts. so one wire from the "post"->to a switch in the cab->to an inline fuse (important to prevent fire)->the positive side of the battery and i have power. the heater blower is running on high since im running a full 12 volts strait from the battery. soon i will get the proper switches which regulate the voltage for high, medium, and low fan speeds.
tomorrow morning i will be warm on the way to workB)

That sould work fine, of course the blower will only be on high speed.
