66 Chevelle Yay or Nay?

Hello all, I am new to the classic car world. I've always liked the 66/67 chevelle's and I have located a 66 and the guy is asking 14,900 obo. I need some input from some of y'all that have the experience and knowledge that I don't about whether or not this is a good buy or not! It has a 454 roller motor with cam, long tube headers, 800 carb, turbo350 tranny, 10 bolt rear end with 342 gears. Also has dual electric fans, pro comp guages, front disc brakes, MSD ignition and a line lock. I saw it this morning and gave it a once over to the best of my ability. Floor panels, rocker panels, frame and trunk all seemed to be free of rust or repair. It fired right up and drove like a champ, shifted smoothly, power steering. It's a 136 car which is fine with me. OK, now my concerns, Noticed some bondo on the driver side rear panel, headliner is faded, when we drove it the temp got to 190 rather quick, rear brakes need to be bled once more, not a posi trac. Gimmi some input or advice please.

See my post on the other topic, Then if you are satisfied that you want the car make him an offer. Decide before hand how badly You want the car and decide how much ($) you are willing to give for it. Start well below what you wish to spend and work upward But DO NOT go above the limit you have set. It sounds like a pretty solid car, and may well be worth the 14.9K he is asking. But don't let him know how bad you want it. If he stated OBO, it means he will take less, You just have to find out how much less he will take.
    Good Luck

You have to decide it according to the condition of the vehicle. How is the engine and interior condition ?

have not made your decision yet You may want to consider the 10 bolt rear needs to be a 12 bolt with the power that the 454 puts out. Also though the 350 turbo is a good trans, I would prefer a 400 as they are stronger. The 350 can and may have been beefed up and if so it would be as reliable as a 400.
In the end it depends on how bad you want the car.
