1930 Essex headlights
-
Our '30 Essex has sealed beam headlights put on by a previous owner and with Hershey coming up I would like to find the proper headlights for this car. I read that the lens are Spreadlite but does anyone know the diameter of the lens so that I can look for the lens and some possible buckets/rings? Thanks.Steve

Have you tried Donald Axelrod in Massachusetts? He has been selling complete headlights for all makes (pre-sealed beam) for years. Possibly he could sell you the missing components as well. I don't have his number handy but he advertises a lot so you could try googling him. He's usually at Hershey.

Thanks JonB, I found an ad for him on Hemmings and emailed him. Still need to know the headlight lens size if anyone knows.Steve

Got in contact with Donald Axelrod a few weeks ago and today received my headlights for our 30 Essex. Thanks Jon B. He said he believes the 30 Essex had painted headlight buckets and the 31 Essex had chrome so I got a chrome set. Lens are Stabilite just as described by Joe30Essex. Thanks all, lots of information available here.Steve
