Fast Freddie

Hello folks. I have a 1933 Pontiac 2 door sedan and I find it necessary to remove the back seat; both parts. Trouble is, I just can't figure out how to do so. Guess I'm getting old. Can anyone help? And yes, I intend to put the seat back in!

I'm not real sure, but I think that the bottom of the seat just sits tight on two pins that come up from the floor.

The seat back should either hang on two hooks behind the seat back or are bolted on with access from the trunk area.

Just a couple of guesses.

I'll see if I have something in the material I have.

Try pushing to the rear on the cushion, bottom part, of the seat while lifting up at the same time. If you know someone with a 33 Chevy, ask them. It's the same body shell.

Thanks for getting back to me Ron. I tried removing the seat bottom as one would in a 50s or 60s car but it isn't clipped at the front. You might be right about the pins, but the seatback prevents me from lifting the rear of the cushion. I tried picking the back up as if it was on hooks but I can't get it to move. I have a feeling that, like many operations on a car, there's a "trick" involved. Everyone I know that actually had a car like mine is dead.

Thanks very much. That's the first thing I tried but the front of the cushion lifts right up. It's not attached there.
