Drive Master parts??
-
I have a 1949 262 engine with a three speed tranny and the engine is covered with vacuum motors, linkage, solenoids and valves, all used to shift the tranny. Hudson came out with this Drive Master in 1942-1950 and mine is called the Super matic as it includes the automatic O.D. tranny. Please correct me if that is incorrect. I plan to rebuild, or at least go over the engine, paint it and use for a club spare for our local boys, if they need one for an every day driver to drop in, until they rebuild or fix the one in their car.

Please let me know if you are interested in any or all the shifter equipment, and I will send pics of the exact area interested in or all the parts, which are still on the engine, as per request. I want to keep the engine and tranny together as it is easier to switch both for a temporary replacement. And yes, if the borrower does not meet the time period agreed upon, I cash their check for the engine, they now own it, and I go get another one for a hanger queen for the members to use.
That is why I just bought this one, as member did buy my loaner, so far. Call if you need more details, Bob at 952-447-1560 I live in MN Bobbydamit -
Hi Bob, it was still called "Drivemaster" in '49. Only started Supermatic in '50 and I expect installed until they ran out, which is sometime real early in '51. Supermatic automatically had O/dr, drivemaster did not. CG

I do have the OD model so anyone needing parts, or the entire drive/super master set up, please send me a note. Hate for all this stuff to go to waste.:SBobbydamit

Think it would help to add these to the WTN for sale section?? Or are they not of any interest to anyone>:huh:Bobbydamit

There are probably a few HET members that would be interested in the DM parts, as some of us can remember have driven a '48,'49 or 50 Hudson with that option. By that time the bugs were pretty much worked out of the components. There will always be an occasional wiring bug to deal with, but what's new. We face wiring bugs most all the time with our 56 year old + vehicles. It won't cost you anything to list the items in the "For Sale" section of the WTN, so go for it!

I just got the new WTN so I will steam the parts off as they are on the engine still and take a picture and post it in the WTN Is there anyone who can give me a fair figure to add to the post? Most people want to know to know a price. Thanks for your help and encouragament. I just hated to see all this fine machinery go to waste.
I sold an entire Electric Hand assembly, yoke, solenoids, servo/vacuum motors, and all the linkage, motors and wiring, at the Madison meet a few years ago, to one happy guy, all for 100 bucks. It all looked like new and most people had never seen it and had no idea what it was, Including me. I got it in a estate buy.
Thanks again and my direct "E mail is hornethudson@hotmail.comBobbydamit -
OK, I hear the steaming off is not a good idea and the parts have a limited list of customers, so In the interest of clearing out the barn, All the parts are now offered for $50 bucks. Not even the price of a tank of gas, and it includes all the linkage, wiring, solenoids and vacuum motors. It all works and it is all there. I live in MN and have no plans to travel to any meets this year, so shipping, or someone traveling your way, is the only hope of avoiding shipping. Send me a PM and we can figure it out. I will trade for engine mounts, door strikers, working radio or even a converted one, steering box or new center hanger bearing for the drive shaft. Call if interested in trading or cash. Hate to pitch any Hudson parts. :sick:Bobbydamit

Now, Bob; If you can't find room for that stuff in your shop, you know I'll jam em in the shed over here. We've pretty much got bilateral storage rights anyway.Workin Stiff

I'm gonna give them all to [The Jerre], as he will live long enough to see they go to good use, long after I am gone. Plus we kinda share storage these days. Too much trouble to clean up and list right now. But if anyone wants the entire system, contact Hudson 308. He will take good care of them til then.Bobbydamit
