The NW Chapter had a great day at the 14th Annual Orphan and Discontinued Car Show hosted by Corvairs Northwest at the XXX Root Beer Drive-In in Issaquah, WA! In the 1950-1959 Class, we had a '54 Hornet take 1st Place and my Jet took 2nd! In the 1930-1939 Class, a prospective member with their customized '32 Essex took 1st! We also had a 1947 Hudson pickup and a 1939 Railton. One other member brought their 1948 Packard while their Hudson preps for restoration. You'll have to forgive my lack of Corvair pictures, but here's a link to some cars that really caught my eye:

The Jet earned her first trophy! Trophies are Root Beer mugs! :)

BIG congratulations Sarah :woohoo: - and a tip of Aunt Hesters bonnet to you all, especially the one who took the baseball bat and got all those great Hudson cars to go to a Brand X show. The rest of the Hudson community in this country can learn something from this.

No put downs - just telling it likes I sees it!!!!!!!!

I was really pleased with participation. The Hudsons getting recognition was icing on the cake.

Busy week for the Jet! Just got back from National Night Out, a community event for neighborhoods. Homeowners were invited to display their cars while hotdogs, chips, soda, cotton candy, and sno cones were passed out and half dozen bouncy houses and blow up slides and stuff for the kids. A Rescue Helicopter, firetruck, etcetra were on display too. A boy around 5 years old impressed me by reading the the chrome label on the trunk, "Hudson Jet. HEY, Mom, like Doc Hudson!" That's all I needed to hear to make my night. :)

Plannig to put another 100 miles on her Saturday to participate in a meet at a local members house.
