OKC National pictures
-
Just arrived home from OKC, had a great time and managed to get some pictures to share with those who couldn't make the trip. Swap area had lots of trees so shade was avilable to help with the heat. Nice breeze yesterday and start of today. Everyone seemed to be coping and having fun meeting and greeting friends, old and new.
Thanks to the North Texas Hudson Dealers for their hard work in bringing off this show.

Yes, that's the '30 H cp. that was Paul's (now deceased) - he did a wonderful restoration on it, used to bring it to the Laughlin Economy Run.
Someone posted that there are 2 Railtons in attendance - if anyone has pics, could you please post them, like to see which ones they are. -
I posted a bunch of pictures over on the HAMB forum, check them out here at:

You MIGHT have to join that forum to view them in the format they are in, but the HAMB is a great place, anyway!"The time has come", the Walrus said, "to speak of many things. Of shoes and ships and sealing wax, of cabbages and kings. And why the sea is boiling hot,

Hot but COOL.

These attached pics open only about a third of the way! What's up with that, I wonder???
Never mind, I got them to open. It was so stinkin' HOT during the Nationals this year, I'm truly surprised that someone did not kick the bucket while there. Is there ANY chance a National event could be scheduled in September sometime? July is absurd, in my opinion!"The time has come", the Walrus said, "to speak of many things. For multiple photos, I find clicking on the left side of the photo will usually fully open a later photo. Once that happens it's easy to cycle forwards & backwards in the sequence.
For a single attached photo, where the above is not possible, "right mouse button" clicking on the attached file will open a new dropdown menu which gives you the choise of opening the photo in a new tab or a new window.
This is the best workround I've found for this glitch in the program.Dave Y

Those air cleaners that say "Hudson-Six". Did someone have those made? What's the story on those?

This was a great meet! Yes, it was a bit on the hot side; but, had a great time. It was fun to meet all the folks from the Forum. I spent a great deal of time with my car (the English Hudson) talking to the many friends that I have met over the years and even was able to meet a bunch more. Thanks to everyone for the comments that they made about my car. I left the meet very thankful for the great group of Hudson folks that take the time to restore, drive and enjoy their cars. Thanks to all....Brownie

Good to meet you also Brownie. Always good to put a face with a name.
Beautiful car! Thanks for bringing it.

Great looking cars. Wish I could have been there but mother nature had different idea. Call me crazy but I liked the barn fresh 52 Hollywood. Maybe because it reminds me of my younger years. lol

Who won the raffle for the new tires or quilt?

Great pics. Thank you. I have to let you know about the other 39 panel, however. Used to be in Harrah's collection and now belongs to Allen Walrath, Amsterdam, NY

Not the same bird Uncle J - the one at OKC belongs to John (and damned if I can remember his last name). This one is full of bullet holes.
Seems like one shows up (Dave Sollons) and they start coming out of the woodwork. Panel Delivery's are most likely on the endangered species list and here we have, apparently, 3 of them and there used to be 1935 Panel in Michigan.

Alex, It's Forkner. My 1939 panel delivery is a 112 (short wheelbase)
My plan is to get all of the running gear in order and leave the body as is. I'll need to add windshield glass too.

The quilt was won by Carmen LaFlame; I believe the tires were won by Kay Denton's Grandson (Kermit?). Could be wrong on the tires, though. I will check tonight.ski4life65 wrote:Who won the raffle for the new tires or quilt? -
Arkie - sounds like a complete rerun of Nashville. I remember the Days Inn, which ran out of sheets, food in the restaurant, and in which the A/C was malfunctioning in some of the rooms, was scheduled for destruction following the Meet, LOL!
Seems like someone would "vet" the facilities properly before anointing the Chapter in charge with the National Meet.
Am contemplating Gettysburg, wonder what the facility is like there? -

I bought a new camera and it will not let me post the larger format pictures. I guess I need to go in and make them all smaller...

Didn't cook on the hood of the truck - but it sure as hell cooked on the pavement, Brownie. LOL
I felt sorry for the little doggies whose owners made them walk on that hot asphalt.

Personally, I think the host chapter did a great job with the selection of the Biltmore as the host hotel. The hotel was built in 1969 as a Hilton. So it's an older property, but very large. We had great meeting and auction facilities, parking for as many Hudsons as we could have gathered, plenty of onsite trailer parking and a huge swap meet area on grass under tall shade trees. Plus every morning they set out as much breakfast as we could handle.
Thanks again to the North Texas Chapter for a great HET National Meet! -
As I said on an earlier post to put on a National in your home town is hard enough - but to do it commuting 200 miles from home is awesome.
I particularly liked the angle parking - it made it so much easier to get great pics.

Kermit Denton goes by "K" Denton. His grandson owns the red '47 truck with the Hudson logo painted on the doors."The time has come", the Walrus said, "to speak of many things. Of shoes and ships and sealing wax, of cabbages and kings. And why the sea is boiling hot,

Being selected as the People's Choice car was a great honor. I just wanted to take a second and thank all those at the National that voted (selected) my car as their choice for People's Choice. It was a great meet and I enjoyed speaking to everyone that came by.
Thanks,
