That's just wrong. Sounds like some resentment there ?

Also Doc Hudson being out of Cars is the reason I'm not going to bother to see this movie. Not just because of the absence of him but also because they took what was a uniquely American narrative story about values and turned it into a stupid Spy-comedy movie rip-off and that's just too bad because up until now Pixar has hardly done any movies I didn't like.

Although the new Cars is definitely an animated James Bond movie and the pace is a 180 from the original... it's true to the times and how history has gone down. If Paul Newman was alive, I still don't think Doc would have had a large roll and that it was respectful for them to discontinue his character. I just told my kids Doc was old and he'd already passed on his knowledge to the younger generation and it was time for him to go to heaven just like the guy who did his voice. True to reality, orphan cars are fading away into the depths of small town museums. Gone are the dirt track days and American built hot rods, we're left with sponsored raceways and foreign tuners. Disney got greedy and tried to make bank a second time around. I have a friend who won't allow her kids to see this until she's watched it and decides whether or not it's appropriate because of the family website reviews on how it promotes the consumption of alcohol and the level of violence in the film (particularly the car torture scene). OH, I did like that they made the Pacers, Gremlins, and Yugos outcasts but can't believe that they had great numbers of them in those particular countries when they actually had VW Golfs, Renault Le Car, Peugot, Opels, Fiats, Trebent, etc - but it was an American movie, right?

I got my 15 year old daughter working on my Hudsons with me. I am also teaching her to drive in a 51 Hornet which as you know is the ideal car to do this. On my cars I gave her the 51 she cleans it keeps the interior looking like new. She changes the oil stuff like that. She would kick you in the head if you said girls shouldn't be working on Hudsons. Only way to pass it on. A. Let them drive them (supervised) B. let em maintain them.

I can tell her what parts we need and she will be digging around swap meets and getting her hands dirty. I got her hooked young and thankfully its never left.

Women love Hudsons its a scientific fact. :woohoo:
