1952 Hornet Club Coupe WANTED

    I am trying to find a 52 Hornet Club Coupe for sale. I grew up around stock car racing and want to start a car collection with the most successful stock car in history. I live in the Chicago area and have little free time. I prefer a complete car which runs and drives. It does not have to be in top shape, just not a complete restoration needed. Please email racenjasn@aol.com or respond to this thread. I have joined the HET Club and look forward to talking to more Hudson lovers. I can't wait till I get one and go to a show with my buddy who has a 57 Chevy and my car gets more attention than his!! Thanks.

    Keep checking Hemmings, the WTN classifieds, Ebay, and Craigslist for unexpected finds. Just a couple months ago, for example, our local (Washington DC) Craigslist ran an ad for an all-original '48 Hudson with a bit of wear and tear around the edges (and a spare exterior visor in the trunk!) for $6500 ("or best offer") which is astounding, given the condition of the car. So, these things do pop up unexpectedly.

    Also, don't hesitate to attend one of your local HET chapter meetings and get acquainted, even if you don't plan to join (though it makes a lot of sense to do so). It's good to plug into the local network and once people know what you are looking for, they will often alert you to available cars that aren't even on the market yet.

    When you get your WTN there is an e-mail address so you can put an ad into the next magazine for cars wanted. I believe there was a 52 Hollywood for sale on craigslist.

    And it will happen, too! I guarantee it.

    Thanks everyone. I have obviously joined the national club, and will be joining the Chicago/Milwaukee chapter. I am looking forward to seeing my first newsletter. Is there a club directory with members and the cars they own? It was recommended to me by a current member to pick up the phone and call some people who have what I am trying to find and see if they wanted to sell. I am open to suggestion and look forward to meeting some of you in the future.

    Here is a great tool to find Hudsons...

    http://www.jaxed.com/cgi-bin/mash.cgi?cat=cp&itm=hudson&loc=&fil=&ys=&ye=&ps=&pe=&pgs=100&submit=++++go++++

    Also, you should be able to get a National roster from the club. However, from persoanl experience, I did not have good results by calling thru the roster...and I was offering top dollar for my friend.
    Also, try placing a free WTB ad in the WTN.
