My New Toy!
-
We took the train to Southern California and drove back in our "new" 47 Commodore Coupe. Now, after 25 years, I have 2 Hudsons. No problems on the 850-mile trip from Brea, CA to Santa Fe, except it was HOT! This car is a "resto-rod"...all stock except for a Ford 300ci inline 6, Ford automatic tranny and rear-end. (yeah, I know, the steering wheel is from a stepdown). Anyway, I'm a happy boy. :cheer:

I can see why you are happy. It is a very nice looking Hudson.Brownie

Congratulations Sam...
Really nice car...
Add AC and your resto-Hudson will be comfortable as well as a sporty ride in NM.
I just found a picture of this car I took at a Cal Inland Chapter meet in 1992.

John
I don't see a problem, John - one for Sam; one for Mary Ann. And we all know the wife has first choice!!! :silly:
Hudsonly,

FYI
Very Nice Coupe...Its something about us Hudson affectionato's, that it seems the majority of us cant own just one....
Ive found an economical way to cool my Hudson's is pick up a '60'S Under Dash A/C Uinit' at local Swap Meet.(I like the older Units because of larger evaporator than newer Units).I look for Unit's with 3 or more wires (3 Spds) running from the Fan Motor. Two wire Unit's(+ & -)require a an old style reostat switch) Then get a 'Ford Compressor' & any Condenser that will fit from a Salvage Yard and have hoses made to length. Special 'old style'fittings to connect modern Evaporator & condenser using R134 can be obtained from Old Air and Southern Rods.. Always buy a new Dryer though. If your handy you can charge Unit yourself with the Kits readily available, if not, a local radiator Shop will re-charge your System. -
Hi Sam, your new toy looks real sharp. Are you planning on driving it to Ok?. We look forward to seeing you there.D

congratulations Sam - looks like ????'s car (can't remember his name, LOL) which he frequently drove on the Laughlin Economy Run.
