This surely is a loss to the automotive enthusiasts, but Smokey was the master, and when We lost Him the knowledge he had was lost forever ( Smokey once said that he didn't need a notebook to keep His secrets, His MIND was the safest place for them, now they are gone forever.

I once read Smokey's book 'Smokey Yunick, Best Damn Garage in Town"

John Deloreon reviewed this book, " I could not set that book down"

Its a huge thick book, and I read it in two long nights. It is a absolute mess of a story about his life, and he never really covered racing that much.
I asked my library to buy it and their cost was $75.00! Great Read.

A loss for sure. Some buddy's of mine from a race team I was on in the mid 90's went there and Smokey chated with them for about an hour. It sounded awesome, they were thrilled.

Ivan went there, recommended by me and bought all his stuff to build his Hornet Racer. Hope Ivan jumps in and tells all the stuff he bought, all severe duty that Smokey used in the old days. Walt.

Smokey was an approachable fellow and made my son's day at the Nashville National meeting by talking with us and then taking his picture with my son.
