If the harmonic balancer/belt pulley on the 52 is the same as on my 53 262,I sure would like to purchase it from you.Mine has a small piece on the belt flange broken from it and I can't find a replacement anywhere. J.R.

From 1948 to 1954, all pressure engines, the counter balancers will interchange as Hudson balanced each part separate. You can use a balancer from a212 or a 254 engine, they all interchange. All internal engine parts on 232's,will interchange, with any other 232, same as all 262's and 308's will interchange. You can take any 308 crank and use in another 308. WALT

Spoke with Todd today and bought the dampner/pulley from him and upon closer examination it appears to be of a peculiar arrangement. Is the crank snout held captive in the pulley by a front plate behind the bolts and if so can the pulley be changed without pulling the crank snout? J.R.

It's held on the crank by a key way and a big bolt at the front. Have to use a puller to remove it. Walt.

The bolts on the back side is what lock the rubber mount to the outer housing. Do not touch these bolts as the pulley is balanced as a unit, and if disturbed, can throw it out of balance and at 1800 RPM's your car will shake like a tire out of balance. Walt.
