Question re Kanter headliner and carpet kits

Has anyone used the premade headliners and carpet kits that Kanter sells? What about the upholstery kits as well?

Acme Healiner does not normally sell at the retail level. They will however for a price. They recommended that I go elsewhere due to the expense, about $340 for the headliner alone for my 54 Sedan. YUK

Thanks for any feedback you can provide,

    Doug,

    Try contacting Robert Westmoreland:

    Mr. Robert Westmoreland, Vice President
    ACME Auto Headliniing
    550 W. 16th Street
    Long Beach, CA 90813

Bought my headliner, windlace, door lace etc. from them for my '51. Last purchases in 2008. He was very helpful over a period of several years. Perhaps things have changed, but were excellent then. Headliner was about $120 in 06. Walt-LA

    FYI
Another resource is JC Whitney who also carry Acme Headliners & Windlace Kits. They providing a toll Number to speak to a Person at Acme. If you catch a Whitney Sale Catalog you can save more. Ive bought 3 Acme Kits from JC Whitney and like them. On a Kit for my truck they upgraded the Material simply because I called inquiring if they had Truck Pattern. I echo great Company to deal with, even though went thru JC Whitney.

I bought my Headliner from Acme 10 + years ago, for my '50 Commadore. I called and they asked me if I had a re-sale number, I said no and they sold me one anyway. They are great people to work with. VicTor Z

To Answer the original question, I contacted Kanter, re my 49 Commadore, received and evaluated several samples, and bought Headliner, Sewn and Pleated Seats, Windlace, Carpets and a roll of material for the front seat back and doors etc.

I'm happy with with whole package except the loops on the headliner were a little long to pull tightly enough. Shrunk it with the teakettle similar to what they did in the factory.

Price for the whole package as I remember was around $750

Thanks to everyone who responded. Uncle Josh, you win the prize. You are the only one who answered the original question. LOL. I appreciate the feedback on JC Whitney, I had kind of forgotten about them.
