dual outlet ex man adapter rear view 111610 instal

Pipe tacked to plate, not permanently welded. Will replace plate with a new one to allow exhaust pipes to be welded nicely. Just thought a rear view would be different/interesting to see. Pic sent too. Bob P

Is that the "look-alike" 7X elbow for the standard single exhaust manifold? I presume it does absolutely nothing for sound because it is not separating the front three exhaust pulses from the rear three like the truly internally split 7X main manifold did, which then continued out the elbow.

of an original Twin-H with 7X exhaust with the factory two into one head pipe that I owned some 40 years ago. I do not own it today. Yeah, high heat gold seemed cool to me then!

Still Out There,
Would you have a photo that you could post of the outlet on the 7X manifold which shows how the exhaust streams from 1-3, and 4-6 are divided at the point where it connects to the exhaust pipe adapter? The division in the latter shows well in your post. But can't seem to find photo of the former in any of the photos posted on the forum to date.

Ah well, one can always hope! Your last post shows the main difference between the two adapters,in that the divider in the 7X piece came all the way up to the opening where it mounted to the manifold. It is not recessed, and would have met a similar internal divider in the 7X manifold to provide full separation. As you probably know, the 7X manifold did not have the same carburetor heating system as the production cars - no chamber and butterfly - just the two holes you see in your last post.
All of the stepdown manifolds are divided between the 3rd and 4th ports, however the divider does not pass all he way through to the outlet, though one would think that an insert could be fabricated which would accomplish a complete split, and block off the carb heat chamber (rather than try to split it).
Which is why I would like to see how Hudson had set up the casting.
Anyone have such a photo?
