Interior door trim

I removed the two stainless strips that run from front to back on the interior door panel of my 53 Hornet (to work on the vent window). I broke off a few of the attaching pins and now the stainless strips don't hang right. The stainless strip has a thin steel backing strip that has the attaching pins punched out, to hold it to the door upholstery.

Can anyone suggest a way to reattach the stainless strip?

    Thanks
    Ed

Hope you saved the small parts that brought off. Very carefully solder them back on and you will have a good strip to put back on. I do all that way. Walt.

You might consider using a paperclip which has been cut off bent and the end sharpened. Glue the smaller loop flat in the channel with JB Weld and bend the spike so that it is in the right place. I'm going to use this on the vertical strips on my '51. But I am replacing the cardboard door panel with about 1/8 inch Luan plywood, and plan to drill the holes. I HAVE NOT INSTALLED YET, so consider this just one more possibility. Could use any wire which bends easily, but shape of paperclip is convenient. Walt-LA
