47 Hudson restoration pictures

I think I figured out how to post some pictures of my restoration project. This is my first car. I purchased it from the original owner 50 years ago. I was 15 years old at the time and my uncle and I were racing Hudson Hornets at dirt tracks in Duluth,Mn and Superior Wi. We had a blast doing that for several years. When we quit racing we put one of our racing engines in my car and I sold it to my uncle.My uncle passed away several years later and I lost track of the car. Last summer (50 years later), I found out from my cousin that the car was still residing on his families property. That was the start of my Hudson odessy into restoration. It has been an expensive but very entertaining project. As you can see I am not done but it is really coming along. I hope some of you more knowledgeable guys than me, will enjoy my pictures.

Good lookin' car, Chuck. You've come a long way on it. Gonna have it at the national meet in Ok. City? You may be eligible for the Albright Award! But what's all that white stuff on the ground? BRRRRRRRRRRRR! LOL

Ain't nothing to be ashamed of there. Love that beautiful blue paint - it seems to just glow, inside or out.
Yes, I hope to see it in OKC - even if it's not done, bring it some how or other, please.

What rare luck you have to find your original Car 50 yrs later! Apparently it was inside a dry shelter...The pictures reveal a very nice restoration thats almost complete.... -

Yes the Twin-H is back in. Believe it or not the engine was not siezed up. I took it out and did major cleaning,tune-up,and paint. It started up when I first got it home, with a little help from a fresh can of gas and some starting fluid. Hard to believe it was last run in 1980.I sent the carbs out for rebuilding and am waiting to get them back.

It was stored outside for all those years,but it sat in a gravel driveway. I am thinking that is what saved the frame and undercarriage. The engine was also not siezed,maybe because the cooling system was full of antifreeze. I really don't know.
