Radiator hose winter sweating

I suppose some in the Cold states like mine, MN have seen this before but it is new to me and I wanted to see if it is the new antifreeze or hose materials causing it. I have a flex style upper hose on my 51 and it is sweating Ethylene Glycol right through the hose while stored in our cold -10 deg F weather. Is this something that will damage the hose. Is it normal. can it be avoided by lowering the level. I saw it last year for the first time and the hose was fine all summer and stopped once the weather warmed up. Sounds like your hose gets porus when it gets cold and contracts. I would think it would be a warning to replace it. Never ran into that problem myself but it probably doesn't get that cold here in SoCal.

Bobby,We have had this problem with lots of local car owners and the New Hoses from GATES will take care of it.
The new hoses have a make up that will not let this happen.
I have had them on my Hudson for about 3 years and No Sweating at all. Be Sure that they are Gates.

Wow, I feel much better knowing I am not going crazy. I will take your advice and get a new one on this spring. Thought I was seeing things or maybe the old hose was more real Rubber, which is very porrus, and less Neoprene which is the newer hose materials. Viton and silicon are used too and not in the older ones. Thanks again for helping, I bet many, cold weather car owners.

Lower hose is 7209 Gates-NAPA (a little long,cut to fit)
Upper hose is 8484 Gates-NAPA Molded
Gates makes NAPA.
