54 Chieftain 6 Cylinder - Fuel Pump

We just brought home a 54 Chieftain Sedan Delivery with the in-line six. The fuel pump doesn't pump and the local parts dealers don't have a listing. Even a local classic car part supplier does not stock Pontiac parts. Does anyone have a part number and supplier for this fuel pump? The original has a glass sediment bowl which I would rather not have so an aftermarket pump is preferred and I'll put in a proper fuel filter.

    Hello Gerry

By joining a Pontiac club you would have access to those who would be able to help you out.

In the mean time there is the electric fuel pump alternative you might consider.

Sorry I do not know where you might find a pump.

You might find a rebuilder that can update it to be compatable with todays gasoline. A new NOS pump will not be compatable with today's gas.

Just a few suggestions. I hope someone will come forth with the parts you require.

    Gooood looooking caaaar !!!

You can try Rock Auto Parts. They are pretty good.

    Or you can try Kanter

    Hope this helps

Try Lester Harris in Minden, Nv. 775-267-2559. Obsolete engine and chassis parts, VERY fair to deal with.
