i want to recolor my 1942 ford cars so suggest some classy color . It's green in color now.

My son just had his 64 Chevelle painted Burgandy Pearl made by Kustom Shop. It is a stand out color especially in the sunlight.
But, if you are thinking of a color you like, go with it no matter what we may suggest. You have to like and be happy with the color you choose for a long time.
I have a question for you off topic. Since you have 1942 Ford cars (how many) my question is, are the 42 Ford steering wheels particular to the 42 Fords? If you have an extra one would you be willing to sell it? My uncle wants one for his 42 Ford coupe. Pictures of his 42 Ford project is in the Ford Rods Forum. If not would you have a source for a steering wheel? Thanks for any help you can provide.
Good luck with you car. Will you post some picture of it? We like to see pictures.

It is very common to paint a car the color it was originally when it came from the factory. Green was not too comon for a 42 Ford so I would suggest going back original. If not, for me, my cars are always "Resale Red or Keeper Green." I sell all the cars I paint red and keep the green ones. Red sells best and I like green cars.....Brownie

Lee, I think the steering wheels and horn rings were the same 42 to 48 but the centr emblem, horn button, was the difference.

I agree with Lee, paint it the color you like regardless of what anyone says.
If you want ideas, look up House of Kolors and look at all the pretty stuff.

Thanks for your help Steve. Would you have a picture of what a 42 Ford horn button looks like and post it please?
