I ran into acar in a junk yard that I have never seen before. It had a grill like an Edsel, three tail light in the back that were almost an exact copy of a 1955 Cadillac. It did not have any doors and had like a cockpit on an airplane. I found a few Stutz autos on the net that resembled it somewhat but nothing exact. The engine was very long and what appeared to be valve covers were side by side on the top of the motor. It was in very bad shape since nothing inside and no steering wheel or dashboard. Does anyone have any idea what this was??

Can you post any pictures? That would help but it sounds as if it's a one-off kit car or home-built custom or some such thing. I've been around cars a long time and can't recall anything that looks like the description you gave right off the top of my head.

I did not take any pictures and I should have. It was not a kit car. The motor was long like a straight 8 but like I said the valve covers were on the top of the motor and side by side.

Photo's are a must in this example. In the early 50's there were a lot of custom cars built. Some well done and some were pretty bad? Also, there were some 100 plus companies building special or coachbuilt cars. There is a good chance it could be a one-off creation using various parts from various cars. Anything at this point would simply be a "WAG" guess.....
