New Aluminum Head
-
In talking with EMI this week, they told me that a new Hudson intake manifold is being worked on as well.
-
Why don't they make a manifold with bungs for multi-port fuel injection? Carburetor manifolds have already been maxed out. Fuel injection will give better gains over the carburetors, as well as better driveability ; easy cold starts, no choke necessary, no vapor lock, etc. Turbo and super charging are also easier to set up with fuel injection.
-
Is the new manifold the Clifford one?www.hudsonmotorcar.org
-
No, this design should mimic the new head in looks, and have an updated flow design.
-
What is the cost of the new aluminum head? Delivery time? Any plans for doing one for the 8-cylinder engine?
-
Jim, check you messages --
I think the first batch will be ready by the end of November, as EMI will do the machine work to the heads when the casting and hardening work is finished. No plans for the 8, that I am aware of, but it this is a success, maybe the 8 will be worth doing as well.
