Finally making slow progress on this 51 Hudson. Should be driving it by at least spring time. After breaking the bank and pulling most of my hair out, I will concour this thing. Gone too far to quit now.

    Hi there Tallent R,

Engine rebuilt, transmission rebuilt, body work done, rewiring done, seats reupholtered, road tested. Man what a job. Didn't know what I was getting into on this one. It was one step forward and three back for a while. I have owned this car for around 8 years and kind of set it back for a while. Then we moved and that slowed me down. I have worked on a lot of engines but never a splasher. Got some bad advice so had to pull the engine out twice. Thanks to a good friend's help it is now running perfect. Ready to start painting. I have it arranged to get the head liner, carpet and door panels done with the matching material that I have left from the seats. I have most of the chrome but still need to find a few little pieces or have them rechromed. Not cheap. Then of course new radial white wall tires and it is FINISHED!

I have been taking pictures as I have gone along but it is on 35mm. Not much good at this new technology with digital cameras but I'll see what I can do. I think regualar prints can be put on a computer if a person knows how to do it. Can't they?

I had a commodore 8 coupe for a few years ,1948 model 3spd w-od. Loved the way the motor ran . Guess thats why I responded to your post. Mine had the most perfect "Burble" at idle in the tailpipe I've ever heard.

They do sound good and smooth. Wish mine was a coupe but it is a sedan. I can live with that though. Probably end up rebuilding the front end too, after driving it a while. Seems pretty tight now but that old rubber, well you know how it goes. Might as well have a new car. Don't know what else could be wrong with it.

If you run over to Wal Mart or one of the Box stores that have a photo department they can down-load your 35 mm or your prints to a disc or memory card and you can print or copy them from there to our forum.

Good friend locally is doing a 1950 8 as we speak. He has it in a restoration shop and it should be fantastic when it is done....

Is that a Hudbaker in that picture. Can't tell which way it is going. I have a 53 pickup that I drive quite often. Studebaker that.

It is a 1936 Hudson 8 cyl long wheel base Sport Saloon Designed by Ried Railton and built by Coachcraft, London, England. I was over checking out the shop where the interior is being put in today. It should be finished this month. They were installing the headliner today and I needed to take some of the interior wood trim in for the folks there. I can hardly wait to get some interior shots to go with the outside shots I have.

Coachcraft was a specialty shop that built custom cars for a lot of the "biggies" such as Bentley, Lagonuda, RR, Railton and anyone else that wanted a coach built car. They did several American cars in the years before the war. They are best known for their Drop-head coupes (we call them roadsters)and since Railton had a contract with them they had Hudson frame's and engine's available. Not known how many cars they built that had only their name on them because all the build records were bombed out and distroyed during the war. Any way you look at it, Coachcraft built cars were always different one from the other. Butler talks about this car in his History of Hudson. I know of one other like mine in England and the owner claims his is the only one ever built? Go figure...

Go into your, My Pictures program. If You have a scanner You can scan pictures into a folder there and then you can transfer to classicar. THERE SHOULD BE A DROPDOWN THAT SAYS "GET PICTURES FROM CAMERA OR SCANNER" Then reply to a topic and use the "add file" button and find your picture. Sometimes it comes up full face and sometimes it will come up as thumbnails.

Wish I had more computer skills. They just didn't teach us that kind of stuff way back when I was growing up. Didn't have it then. I wish things were more simple these days too. Nothing has just an ON or OFF switch on it anymore. Hard for this hillbilly from Indiana to catch up now.
