I really like the way that the attached pictures in a post display now, and when there are multiple ones, you can scroll through them all with the arrow along the side like on picture sharing sites!:woohoo:

I was going to ask what the "add file" is, but now I see it below. Lets see if this works. . .

Hey, that's great! All this time I've been procrastinating on learning how to post pictures, but time has shown the wisdom of my strategy- If you bumble around long enough, someone will come along and figure it out for you!

Lets see how easy it is to add pictures.

Oh, I like that - very easy to add pictures, files, whatever using the Add File link at the bottom.

With Alex Burr and Ted Welch's help I found the forum, thank you. It took me awhile longer to find where to login to post a message. I didn't know you had to login at the top of the Classic Car.com link where it says login on the brown part at the top of the page. I do not remember ever using that before.
This format will take getting used to.

The new format looks pretty good to me!

The only comment I would make is that 6 replies to a page is very fiddly (fiddley?), can the moderators bump it up to 20?

Maybe reinstall the preview button so you can be sure that links, photos etc are displaying OK before pressing the POST button.

I never got the hang of avatars in the old system, is this new system easier?

Not having an iPad is what I hate. We will look to this if there is a way to test the format if there is a way for us to do that. Thanks for the info and happy iPadding!

I second the vote for the "preview" button.

Let me try the picture test.

    [attachment:1]C:\fakepath\DSC01954.JPG[/attachment]
I got it to insert a picture but when I went to put a second picture in it reinserted the same picture again?

And now I see the option to insert a picture is gone? What am I doing wrong? Can you insert more than one picture in a post?

Do you still have to resize?
    What's a fakepath?
It will only let me insert ONE picture.

If you don't want your pictures to show as a single attachment, I would suggest uploading them first to a flickr or photobucket account. (HINT: I'm usually multi-tasking and have at least 5 things open at one time, so right now I "only" have both this forum and flickr websites pulled up.) Once you upload your image(s) on Flickr, you should look at them from the Your Photostream page were you can view all the images you uploaded. You can right click on the photo you want to share and click on Properties, then highlight the URL of that photo, right click the highlighted area, and click on Copy. Now go back to the forum you want to post a picture on. After clicking Reply, you'll see the Boardcode section above where you type in your message. Click on the Image Link button, which will pop up a section for you to paste that URL information in. Paste the URL into the white box with the Insert button to the right. You can post several medium size pictures this way just by clicking Image Link and inserting the URL for each photo. This will result in a Medium Size Photo.

    5057179653_8b6d857732_m.jpg

OR, if you want a larger picture. From Your Photosteam, Click on the picture to open page with the indiviual picture. Above picture, click on Share This dropdown and click on Grab the HTML/BBCode. Click on the BBCode button on bottom, then copy and the text in that box into the Message box of you Replay on the forum. Do this for each photo and you'll see the following:

And I know, I'm not supposed to start a sentence with "and".

We hate doing it too. Its a lot of work and grief for us as well. I some times wonder if members have any idea on the amount of effort placed into doing this work. We are working hard to make the site better, it takes a lot of time and doing changes in real time is even harder. As of today, we have corrected over 100 bugs and made 3 full revisions since last week to accommodate our members. I know it is slow, but we hope the changes will be seen for the better. :)

Being an old retired folk who thought the typewriter was "space age" technology I have to agree with Alex. I have found that for each photo you want to add all you need do is hit "edit" after you have sent the file and you can add another photo. Now that I have said that, I hope they do not shut this method of posting down. I am not sure I could learn all that "flicker" and other terms you used... Also, I fully understand the work and updates to make these things work. Those of you who do this are my heros...

I don't see an "edit" button. After I insert a picture the system won't let me "add file" again. It's like it's frozen after one use.
And the picture goes to the top of the post every time.

Maybe once the bugs are worked out of the system a "sticky" could be posted to help out people like me who are NOT computer types?

I'm having some problems with multi-page threads. I see the litte "pages" icons at the bottom right, but it only goes up to the page I'm looking at. As long as the thread doesn't have more page numbers than fits in the window, you can just click the next page. However, if the pages are many - it only goes up the page you're viewing. You can't just pick the next page and move along.

How does one "thumb" through the rest of the pages without having to re-enter the thread from the main page? I know I'm missing something simple - somebody point the way, please.

Have the same issue - A 13+ page thread will only show about 12 of the page links, once you get into the thread, a 31 page thread only shows 28 pages... The only way I've found around this is to do like you said, to go back to the main Forum page, and then go into the page you wanted to look at.

Maybe Ted (Forum Admin) will weigh-in on this - appears to be a bug.

BTW, I routinely run IE v7.0.5730.13 when I experience this issue, and see the same issue with IE v8.x on a separate PC.
I have no problem with this particular issue while running with Apple Safari, so it is more than likely browser related...

There is a major update coming down this week. I know that we reported this issue to the developer as well some other sites. I have not gone through the entire bug fix log, there are over 100 fixes and another 20 feature improvements in the update. The developers are very good to work with an update the code almost every 4 to 6 weeks. Its like restoration work, grind off some rust, treat, apply some surface builder, sand, more builder, more sanding.....its a work in progress. Hang in there. Thanks!

It shows on new topic, reply...really any place you are posting from. Its part of the editor. Sorry for the confusion. You can embed photos, ebay items, video, maps, and links. Its just matter of what you want to do.

See the Enlarge / Shrink to the left (When in the Editor)....this will add more space if you care to expand the posting window. There is really a lot to the Forum if have time to play around with it.
