Vintage Hornet Decals by Clifford
-

I found this pair of decals last week on e-bay. I thought they may be repro's but they turned out to be originals. Cost me less than $2.00 delivered and just put them on my 51 Hornet Coupe.... cool daddy-o! -
I had some of those on my 51 Hornet back in 1973?
-
Nice decals.... Got to love Ebay. Where else can you find these out of the way products?Brownie
-
Back of the water decals say TEC-COLOR-CRAFT in Covina, Ca. The phone number is listed as CU. 3-8707. These gotta be from the early 50's.
-
I'm gonna show my age - I also remember those decals. Along with the famous 6=8 decal that was also available. (This is a b&w copy - as I recall they were in color, but I can't remember what.

I ordered some stuff from Clifford awhile ago and they sent me some of these water slide decals, I just assumed they were repro ones? Maybe I should not have used them.I still have a couple and they have the same thing on the back.

I'm curious, so I just sent an e-mail to Clifford to see what they can tell me about these decals. If they are repro, then would be nice to get some made available to HET.
-
Check with Paul Schuster, as he might be able to remake them.
-
Man, I like those Hudson Power stickers. We should definately get those reproduced!
-
FYI- Just got an e-mail from Clifford. These are not repro's. These are original decals from 1957......
-
Wow 1957!, I feel guilty about using 6 of them on my car now, glad I kept one of each. I could probably get them reproduced as stickers not waterslides if anyone is interested. Cheers Mike.

A few years back I took the lid to my tool box down to a local place and had a bunch of these stickers made up. I am guessing that they date back to about 1959 (that was the year that I got the tool box and I was also racing at that time). Beeline/Fronter was a local gas company here in Utah and they sponsored local activities such as racing at the Bonneville Salt Flats
The second sticker, from the deck lid of my 1952 Hudson racing car, is from a National Car Tour held in 1957. There were twenty cars on the tour and each one got a sticker for the side of their car. This is the one that Dad had. Needless to say, they are both rather rare.MVC-001F_2010-10-05.JPG800 x 600 - 29KMVC-002F_2010-10-05.JPG800 x 600 - 38KBrownie
