Piston Set - What are they for???
-
Hello,
I have a set of new pistons for a V8 engine but have no idea what motor they are for.
They are McQuay Norris Aluminum Pistons, part number P-600AX, +.030, set of 8 still in the box.
If you have any idea what this part number fits please let me know! Thanks! -
Don't feel to bad. There is a guy on the AACA frum and one on the HAMB that have the same problem. No one seems to know were there may be a catalog for these to find out what fits wha.
Have you researched the name to see if there is someone to call?

Well I've been researching and looking for catalogs with no luck, but today was digging through more of my junk in the shed and found a list of a bunch of pistons and their specs, although it doesn't list what they fit. Here are the specs for these pistons:
3-3/4 Diameter (plus the +.030), .001&1/2 min skirt top clearance, .000&1/2 min skirt bottom clearance, min land clearance .026, pin fitting is a slide fit in both bosses with pin and bosses dry (for use if rod is bushed). There is also a diagram explaining the skirt contours but can't really explain it.
If these specs tell you anything on what they can be I'd be happy to know. I will try scanning the 2 page list of pistons and their specs plus the diagrams and posting them on here for everyone to be able to reference. -
thanks for the good info!
