Just got my 55 out of the paint shop, just recieved my rebuilt 316 , bolted up a new 700 R-4 tranny to it with an adaptor. Only problem so far is they lost my exhaust manifolds. Anyone know of any or headers that work?

I'm sorry to say that your car is now not going to be able to be finished because they do not make these parts.

Maybe you could sell me the car cheaply and I will put up with the pain of it.

Ha,HA,HA. Just kidding. My first car was a 55 Pontiac 2 door hardtop green and white (or was that beige?) I loved that car and if I find a buyer for my Cutlas I will look for another Pontiac. After all that's what this hobby is all about.

Have you tried the usual places i.e. e-bay, rock auto and maybe the guys on the Pontiac message board? I'll ask some of my Pontiac people back up in Chicago, maybe they will come up with something.

Post some pictures or send me some, I'd love to see the car. Best of luck with it.

OK I may be wrong... proably am, but I thought that the 55 had the 287 in it and the 316 didn't come out till 56... Anyway keep an eye on Ebay, there are exhaust manifolds coming up there all the time, and they usually sell pretty cheap. I swapped my 55's 287 out to a 400 Love it, but wish I would have went with the 700R4 rather than the TH400 tranny. You'll have to post a pic or two of your car. I love 55's they are like the chevys cuter sister. here is mine... if you're interested http://magicclassiccars.com/mycar.aspx
