Stepdown sedan rear windows come in 4 flavours, small, 2 piece medium, 1 piece medium and large.

48, 49 and SWB 50 sedans all have the small rear window

50 LWB sedans have the 2 piece medium rear window

All 51 sedans have the 1 piece medium rear window

All 52, 53, 54 sedans have the large rear window

Coupe rear windows come in 3 flavours, small, medium and large. The small is actually the same piece of glass as the small sedan rear window. The medium and large rear windows are coupe only.

48, 49, 50 coupes all have the small rear window

51 coupes have the medium size

52, 53, 54 coupes all have the large size

Bob - I differ with you on the 48-49-50 Coupes. They used a different rear window from ther 4dr 2 dr sedans - it wasn't quite as tall as those in the Sedans. Also, the rear windows in the 51, 52, 53 and 54s were not quite as tall as those used in the 2 dr and 4 dr sedans.

And in case anyone's wondered, the '54 Hollywood one-piece back glass will drop into the "52-'53 Hollywoods. Maybe some of you recall seeing Horace Hutto's black '52 with the '54 glass. Really looked great.

I had no idea there were so many differences. Very interesting.

Thank you all for the information. Lee

    Jerry,

I haven't tried to interchage them, but can only go by the parts book description. The 48-54 interchange book says 48-49,50A,500 Four door,as well as 48,50coupe and 48,49 two door use PN210115. I guess that leaves 50 two door sedan as different ? the book doesn't list the 50 two door.. hmmm..the 501,502,503,504 use two piece glass.

It is as Bob & Dave listed, guys. '48-49 all (except convertible) and '50 Pacemaker all (except convertible) use the same backlight glass, as well as the '50 LWB (Super & Commodore) coupes only. Some of those models had the addition of stainless trim, but the glass is the same. '50 LWB broughams and sedans were the only stepdowns to use the 2-pc. backlight.
