'35 Hudson horn button insert

Does anyone know who would be a good source to get a horn button insert for a '35 Hudson? If none are out there, then if I can at least get a picture or drawing of one to possibly create on my own with metal or tin would be helpful - just want to get the dual trumpet horns working again! Thanks

anyone know if 35 and 37 are the same? ALAN , measure the opening in the wheel and post a pic of wheel--- BUD

JON , I know the 35 and 36 is a keyway fit and the 37 is splined. Other than that are they different ?

The part I am looking for is the metal insert ; the white plastic horn button in the middle unscrews and the metal insert is right underneath used as a contact to allow the horns to work. I saw a sample of one several years ago, but could not remember the detail. Bud, Jon, thanks for your input also - I did contact Terry Johannes who also owns a '35 and he said he may have an extra insert - will post an update once I hear back from him - again, thank you gentlemen for your replies. -
In a pinch, I wonder if the whole thing might be fabricated? White plastic could be lathe-turned to get the proper shape, and various steel / bronze / copper parts could be soldered / welded together to make the contacts. Never underestimate the resourcefulness of a Hudson owner!
For example, back in the benighted 1970's when Hudson reproductions were rare, I needed a "flying carrot" hood ornament for my '37. So desperate was I, that I bought a Plexiglas acrylic rod and had a fellow worker lathe-turn it in the shop, to the Zeppelin shape. Then I cut three pieces of brass and hand formed them into the "wings" that surround the carrot. (I did happen to have a pot-metal base.) The result doesn't look half-bad at 20 ft. away! I am a draftsman, not a craftsman; I don't even own a table saw. But it's amazing what desperation can accomplish. -
Good news - Terry was able to locate an extra insert he will be mailing to me.
Thanks for the pointers Jon - I agree that sometimes you have to be prepared to fabricate things in certain instances to keep our beloved Hudson's going - greatful for members like Terry who are willing to help!
Whether it's a horn button insert or a complete engine overhaul; always seems to be a Hudsonite out there to offer assistance - Awesome!
