Anyone have a part # for a 12 volt voltage regulator I can use to convert my car from 6 volt? I think I have everything else I need.

    Thanks

The regulator needs to match the generator being used. What 12v generator are you using?

I had my original generator converted to 12 volt at a local shop. 52 Hornet

I'd think the shop would have an idea of what regulator to use, based on the field coils they installed. Lacking that, I'd try a regulator for a '56 Hornet, either an original or after-market. NAPA or other parts house should be able to supply one.

you can use your 6 volt reg. with the 12 volt gen. It can be adjusted to put out 12 volts. This is done by changing the spring tension on the points inside of the reg. Some have adj, screws and some you have to bend the spring mounts.Tools needed amp meter and volt meter.

Need to have reg.and gen. in car and able to run motor.
