1928 Essex Frame ID numbers.
-
Please help. I need to know where on the frame of a 1928 Essex, the factory put another ID number that matches the ID tag on the fire wall.
Any leads I need ASAP. Thanks Rich Smithen -
look at the right rear spring shackle you should see the number.
it is on the top horizantal paet of the shackle.
I had to remove paint before I could see mine.

Are there any other places where one can look? RichSmithen

I have a 28 Essex and that is the only 2 places I know of other than if you had original engine the engine serial number is on the left side of the block.
I looked at the manual and it only indcates the firewall and rear spring shackle as locations for serial numbers.

Curious to find the # on my 30 Essex coupe. Looked at the shackle and
guessing I'd have to remove the fuel tank cover to see the top of the shackle.
Are you able to see this # without disassembly?
